If not us then whom?

Received a plea for help tonight from a local vulnerable female. Having been made homeless and apparently sidelined by other agencies, she was scared at the prospect of having to sleep on the streets.
It was obvious to Steve and I that we couldn’t look the other way. We have used charity monies to get her into safe accommodation for the weekend to prevent her coming to harm. We will take up her cause on Monday when agencies reopen.
Coming so soon after the death of a homeless man in the town centre, what is happening locally to homeless people is wholly unacceptable.
